World Serpent Spawn

World Serpent Spawn
Level 24 (+9)
"We thought it was an earthquake as the castle shook around us, the parapets falling to pieces around the courtyard with every stroke of lightning. In hindsight, it was quite funny that the cause of the destruction was merely a frightened baby and not an angered god like the priest had thought. It was returned to its parent soon after with the help of the King Reagent’s Wizard."
——Helmse Prattlebraid, Dwarven Sage
The Spawn of the World Serpent, an impossibly colossal monstrosity that feasts upon the earth itself, are impressively huge, even from birth. Such a creature is over 40 feet long, 15 feet around and well over 40,000 lbs. Much like its parent, the World Serpent’s scales are a mixture of pale blue and silvery white, scintillating with barely contained electricity and patches of swirling frost. This energy is used to attack enemies much like how an ordinary snake injects a victim with poison, however, the Spawn can eject these elemental properties from its body to lay its enemies low. In addition to their offensive properties, the elemental forces contained within the beast also serve to regulate heat and muscle control within the body. As the creature matures these energies become vital in sustaining its strength and mobility. Irregularities often occur as they grow to Colossal size or larger, causing premature death. This is perhaps fortunate, for so few of these serpents survive to adulthood that there may only be 1-3 alive at any time. Those that do leap upon each other eventually, using the others as a food source while ensuring their survival.
