Chain

A long length of metal links, usually made from iron, interconnecting with each other. They serve a similar function to rope, being used to bind things together or attach to objects such as locks and latches to secure or pull something heavy. Since they are made from metal, high quality chains can withstand a much larger amount of abuse than a rope.
