"Ghoul Fever, it ain't a sickness, it's a death sentence and an ungodly rebirth all wrapped in one. When the fever hits, you'd think it can't get worse. But then comes the hunger... an insatiable craving for the flesh. And when death finally comes, it's no mercy, but the birth of a new monster. It's a hellish transformation, from man to ghoul, and one I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy."
——Griswold, Veteran Gravekeeper.

Description

Ghoul Fever is a macabre ailment that relentlessly warps its victim into a monstrous mockery of their former self. The disease commences with a fever that rapidly intensifies, provoking hallucinations and a bizarre craving for raw meat. As the fever subsides, it gives way to an unfathomable hunger that, coupled with an irrepressible rage, becomes the sole focus of the afflicted's existence. As their humanity slowly erodes, the victims succumb to a restless slumber, only to rise once more as ghouls. These risen ghouls carry within them the same affliction that turned them, a dark reminder of the mortality they've left behind.

Typical Exposure

The initial contraction of Ghoul Fever results from a foul contamination that stems from the bites or scratches of ghouls. This gruesome contagion infiltrates the victim's body, slowly pervading it with a necrotic essence that converts the living flesh into a vessel for the undeath. The disease's spread does not end with the victim's transformation; the risen ghouls serve as new vectors for the dreaded affliction, spreading the curse of Ghoul Fever with their unholy touch.
