——Bastion the Wizard, discovering some Mummy Dust in the hands of a party memeber

Description

Mummy Dust appears as a sickly yellow and brown, flaky dust made from fine, tainted bits of skin and cloth. Upon closer inspection, one can even see the scrawling of tiny enchanted runes on the dust that surely came from the mummy's wrappings. If the corpse dust is inhaled by a living creature, the target is overcome with a crippling sense of dread, potentially forcing them to cower in fear, usually in front of the individual who infected them.

Lore

Mummy Dust is not a crafted poison, but is actually taken from the disintegrated skin of those cursed to exist as mummies. The magical fear inherent in these undead monstrosities infects every fiber of their being and can be made from virtually any part of the mummy. The process for gathering mummy dust is extremely dangerous, as is using it. If even a tiny speck of the stuff is inhaled, the full effect of the Mummy Dust is realized, and even the user will soon find themselves overwhelmed with fear.
