Anchored

You have been bound to this world and cannot leave through extradimensional means, nor can you teleport or use any other movement mode with an interdimensional property. Gates, portals and other planar boundaries are off limits to you, and you pass through them as if they were not there. This includes accessing pocket dimensions created by items.

  • You cannot cross planar or dimensional boundaries, even into pocket dimensions. You move through them as if they were not there (i.e. instead of stepping into a portal, you instead end up on the "back side" of the portal.
  • Unless otherwise stated, anchored applies to items worn or held by you at the time of anchoring.
  • In additional to individuals, areas can also be anchored. In which case, all creatures and objects within the area are treated as Anchored.

Examples

Powers and abilities that do not function while anchored include: Dimension Door, Gate, Teleport, and Plane Shift.

  • An anchored creature reaches into a Bag of Holding. Instead of finding items in the pocket dimension created by the bag, the creature simply feels the small confines of a normal bag (as if the bag were mundane in nature instead of magical). They are unable to access the contents of the pocket dimension.
  • An anchored creature tries to walk through a free-standing portal. Instead of being transported by the portal to another place, the creature simple walks through it and ends up on the opposite side of the portal, as if it were not there. If the portal was placed on a wall, then the creature would bump into the wall as normal.
