Glancing Hit
When a weapon attack meets or exceeds your Glance AC, but does not overcome your Hit AC, it is considered a Glancing Hit. When you suffer a Glancing Hit, the attack is subject to Armor-Based Weapon Resistance and you suffer only half damage from the glancing attack. The difference between your Glance AC and Hit AC is dependent on the armor you're wearing. Generally speaking, the heavier the armor, the larger the difference between your Glance AC and Hit AC. The following is a list of conditions that can make the difference between a Glancing Hit or a Full Hit:
- You are hit with an attack that meets or exceeds your Glance AC, but does not overcome your Hit AC.
- Any weapon-type damage is subject to Armor-Based Weapon Resistance and is reduced by half.
- Armor Negation (ArN) can upgrade a Glancing Hit to a Full Hit by adding directly to the attack roll.
- Having one or more Advantages automatically upgrades a Glancing Hit to a Full Hit.
