Reflex

The Reflex defense is your ability to predict, duck, dodge and generally avoid attacks that blanket an area (such as a Dragon’s breath attack). It also represents your ability to avoid rays of energy, carefully aimed weapon attacks, and other attacks that by-pass most forms of armor. To calculate your Reflex score, use the better of your Dexterity Accuracy (DexA) and Intelligence Accuracy (IntA). Racial bonuses can be granted to the Reflex defense, as well as flat bonuses granted by combat training in “Reflex”.

Since armor and shields can provide some protection against area attacks, this equipment does grant a slight bonus to your Reflex defense. The reflex defense also suffers the penalty imposed by the Attribute Reduction from any armor you are wearing, so make sure to take that into consideration when determining the attribute that will calculate you Reflex score.

In summary, to determine you Reflex score use the following equation:

Reflex (Ref) = 10 + [(best of DexA or IntA) - Armor Attribute Adjustment (min. 0)] + Reflex CT + Armor bonus + Shield bonus + LVLM + Racial Bonus + Miscellaneous Bonuses
