Tarnian Necrotoxin

Tarnian Necrotoxin
Toxin Rank 8
Delivery: Contact
Onset Time: 1 moment
Resilience DC: 16
Effect:
  •  1 Dose: The target's flesh begins to rapidly decay. Each phase the target must make an Injury Check at a +5 bonus or suffer a Necrotic Injury. If this results in a Lethal injury, the target' body violently melts and erupts into a puddle of Tarnian Necrotoxin (Body Destroyed). Any nearby creatures (within 10ft) are subject to an attack (+5 vs Reflex), on a hit they are splashed and exposed to a dose of the toxin.
  •  2 Doses: The target suffers as above, but the injury check must by made without the +5 bonus.
  •  3 or more Doses: The target suffers as above, but must make the injury check every moment instead of every phase.
Metabolism: Doses remain active for 2d4 Phases. However, after being affected by the toxin, the target is automatically afflicted by a special Curse (Lesser Curse, Potency 25). This curse automatically exposes them to a dose of the toxin at the end of every extended rest. The curse can only be lifted by magic abilities such as Remove Curse.

Description

Tarnian Necrotoxin is not made, it is a fluid secreted by a race of vile lizard humanoids, both powerful and infused with dark magics. This black ichor is thick and volatile, destroying any flesh it comes in contact with at a rapid rate. This toxin is the primary reason Tarnian Lizards are feared by all who encounter them, although their substantial strength and ferocity could be enough by itself. Gathering the Toxin is extremely difficult, for if even a tiny drop touches flesh, it could potentially tear through even the most resilient hero.

Lore

The Tarnian Lizards are a race of unknowns who have existed on the material plane for a very long time. They are rumored to serve the chaotic will of a massive god-thing version of themselves, although this beast has never been encountered. This is fortunate, for the result could very well mean the end of the goodly races of the surface. History is filled with accounts of people dying horribly on Tarnian Necrotoxin infused claws, their flesh rent to pieces while the nightmarish fluid seeps from their wounds, melting them to nothingness. A few have attempted to harness this fluid and weaponize it, but such attempts backfire due to underestimating the potency of the fluid, eventually claiming anyone who tries to use it.
