Description: The Hallow ritual creates an area safe from corruption of evil and undeath and usually serves to protect the final resting place of mortal beings. Once 20 souls have been laid to rest within the area (typically a graveyard) and a blessing said over each one, a connection to Hox is created (deity of Death and Burial) forming a protection over the area. The protection solidifies with the performance of a funerary procession, where a prayer is offered up to each buried soul.

When the blight is first created, it starts as a Rank 0 Blight (see Blights for more information). When an additional 50 souls have be laid to rest within the area (and appropriately blessed), the Rank of the Blight increases to Rank 1. Each subsequent Rank requires 50 souls per Rank of the blight (i.e. an additional 100 for Rank 2, then an additional 150 for Rank 3, etc).

Minor Effect: Undead cannot be raised within the area. Creatures with the Evil Keyword are Weakened.
Major Effect: Undead creatures that enter the area suffer Holy damage equal to [10 x Rank of Blight] every round. Creatures with the Evil keyword are repelled and prevented from entering the area. Additionally, the area is considered to be Hallowed Ground, which may have additional or different effects for certain creatures.
Removing the Blight: If the graves of each individual buried within the Hallowed area are dug up and defiled, the ritual ends.
