Locate Object

Effect: While you concentrate on the ritual you can sense the direction of a specific object of your choosing (chosen when the ritual is cast). You visualize the general shape and type of object you are looking for, such as a gem, piece of jewelry, or dagger. If there is more than one item within range that matches your visualization, you are directed to the closest one. You may look for a very specific object by visualizing its specific features. If your mental image does not perfectly match the specific or unique item, or no such object is within range, the ritual fails. Once the ritual picks an object, it continues to direct the caster to that specific object for the duration.

Running water (such as a river or stream) prevents the locating of an object. Additionally, the ritual cannot detect an item that has been masked.
