Locate Object, Greater

Effect: As the ritual completes you momentarily sense the direction and general distance (GM's Discretion, but usually accurate to within 1 mile) of a specific object of your choosing. You visualize the general shape and type of object you are looking for, such as a gem, piece of jewelry, or dagger. If there is more than one item within range that matches your visualization, you are directed to the closest one. You may look for a very specific object by visualizing its specific features. If your mental image does not perfectly match the specific or unique item, or no such item is in range, the ritual fails.

Running water (such as a river or stream) prevents the locating of an object. Additionally, the ritual cannot detect an object that has been masked.
