Immediate Action

Range: 100ft

Effect: You take a fraction of a moment to sense the Psionic energies building nearby, attempting to gain a premonition about how reality will change when the energies release. Make an Psionic Practice check [DC based on the phenomenon, more powerful phenomenon are easier to sense]. If you succeed the check, you gain a premonition of what could happen when the energies manifest.

Special: The range is based on either where the power is originating, or where it is targeting.

Duration: Concentration, up to 1 Moment

Range: 50ft

Target: 1 creature

Effect: You concentrate to psychically observe and probe the target's mind. You must successfully concentrate on the target for 1 moment to learn any information, though the target does not need to remain within range while you concentrate. When you start concentrating, the GM makes a secret opposed Deception check against the target's Intuition. If you fail the check, the target automatically becomes aware of you and your observation and can sense your general position. However, you remain unaware of the result of the check regardless of its outcome. After 1 Moment of concentration, you automatically learn whether or not the target has any Psionic Ability (i.e. if it has any ranks in the Psionic Philosophy). If the target does have Psionic Ability, then you may make an opposed Psionic Practice against the target. If you succeed the check, you can determine the target's ability relative to your own (i.e. Higher Rank, Equivalent Rank, or Lower Rank).

Special: If the target is Mindless you automatically learn this before you start concentrating and this ability ends.
