Elite Royal Guards are among the most highly trained of soldiers. Equipped with fine Chainmail Armor, Ranseurs, and Heavy Crossbows, they are usually bedecked in the royal colors and coat of arms relevant to the king or queen they serve. Their skill in combat is matched by only the most experienced adventurers, and they are unflinching in their sense of duty and eagerness to enter combat in defense of their charges. Such warriors can stand at attention, unmoving for hours at a time, focused on the singular goal of observing all potential threats to the royal court, and dispatching them if necessary. They can be of any race, as their position is earned through deed and sacrifice, having nothing to do with birth.
