Red Dragon Wyrmling

Red Dragon, Wyrmling
Level 6 (+4)
"I have not had a visitor for many years. I had thought the lesser races had given up trying to rid itself of my scourge, but I suppose I was mistaken. So...in what way would you like to contribute to my legacy: Slave or Victim?"
——Tarsanus, the Great Red Wyrm
The Red Dragon is perhaps the most feared of its kind. They are wholly malevolent, violent, covetous, cunning, and merciless. Furthermore, they are among the strongest and largest of the evil dragons. At birth, a Red Dragon is between 7 to 9 feet long, and weighs between 500-800 lbs., with dark red scales seething with warmth that threaten to burn before too long. As a Red Dragon grows to maturity, it can become up to 50 feet long and weigh nearly 25 tons. While it grows, its scales also become a more vibrant red, and their outer edges become marred with black scorch marks, as the internal dragonfire building within the beast begins to burn at the hardened carapace. The talons on their feet are black, as are the horns that run from the top of their head down along the base of their neck. Their wings similarly feature black talons along the ridges, while the wings themselves become a darker red as they widen out at the base. This creates an almost demonic appearance in a monolithic beast as large as a castle, making it unsurprising that lesser mortal creatures with an evil disposition may often come to revere such monsters as gods. Red Dragons prefer to make their lairs in large mountains, either deep within the rock, where it can be closer to a heat source such as lava, or within a volcano itself, basking in its overwhelming glow.

Red Dragons possess many magical powers that they use to corrupt, dominate and incinerate their enemies with. If such a creature has any weakness, it would be that it is perhaps arrogant. An older Red Dragon that feels confident in the presence of a threat (which is usually the case given its relative size to everything else) will often choose to descend to ground level, bathing its victims in its terrifying presence, then roasting them with impossibly hot fire while they stand paralyzed. Should this fail to slay its prey, it will gladly engage in dismembering the remnants with massive bites and clawed swipes capable of dislodging buildings. A smaller Red Dragon is no less threatening, stalking its target like a viper, then lashing out with a gout of flame and jumping upon it with its powerful clawed limbs. Should a Red Dragon realize it is in danger, it will retreat to relative safety and continue its assault with its litany of magical abilities, magically speeding itself up while slowing and blinding its enemies.
