Bastard Sword
Also known as a hand-and-a-half sword for it's larger than normal grip and blade, a bastard sword rests in between a long sword and great sword, being slightly slower with greater reach than the former, but a bit quicker than the latter. A skilled user can wield this weapon in one hand if they possess the strength, but may otherwise use two hands if they choose. The blade itself tends to be a bit longer and heavier than that of a longsword.
