Hauberk (Chain Coat)

A Hauberk is a somewhat thicker and heavier version of the Byrnie, made from similar but heftier steel links sewn into a protective quilted coat and often outfitted with a mail hood to protect the head. The skirt of the armor also hangs a bit lower, past the knees, with a split down the middle to allow for riding a horse. The arms of the Hauberk extend down to the wrist, and commonly feature full chain mail gloves to protect the hands.
