Description

Purple Worm Poison appears as a bright green, almost neon liquid, so thick that it is almost opaque. Unlike most poisons, it requires no preparation once the venom is extracted, and can be used right away, provided the handler knows how to use it safely. The poison itself is extremely dangerous, killing a victim in a matter of seconds if the are not treated quickly. Once inside the body, it spreads quickly to the major organs of the body and attempts to shut them down. Since the beast the poison comes from is exceptionally large, the dosage it releases upon an attack is similarly generous. Such creatures are designed for hunting large prey, so humanoids are usually overtaken by the poison in short order.

Lore

Most Purple Worm Poison is harvested unintentionally, meaning no sane creature would ever seek out a purple worm knowingly. These giant monstrosities are notoriously powerful and aggressive, capable of swallowing most people in a single gulp, digesting them later if the poison doesn't get them first. Still, a rare few individuals have been known to survive such an encounter, and in so doing managed to extract some of the liquid, making them rich in short order. Assassin's guilds the world over pay handsomely for such weapons, as this particular fluid is a highly illegal substance in almost every city on the planet.
