Ring Mail

Ring Mail is a somewhat inaccurate term for this armor, perhaps because at a distance it shares a similar appearance to various types of chain mail. Ring Mail is in fact made up of numerous wide metal rings of steel or iron bound to thick leather or hide armor. The rings help to redirect, halt and catch otherwise lethal blows. Ring Mail can be designed a number of ways, but typically has sleeves that extend down to the wrists, the hem of the armor reaching down about midway to the thigh. Most sets of Ring Mail also come with leg plates, bracers and shin guards.
