Scale Mail

Scale Mail is body armor that features small metal plates sewn into a hard leather backing in overlapping sections. Suits of Scale Mail can be any length, but most commonly feature sleeves down to just above the elbow, and a skirt that stops just above the knees. Many such suits of armor come with gauntlets, leggings and boots also reinforced with Scale Mail. The term "Scale" refers to how the overlapping plates tend to look like the scales found on many types of fish. The armor is a bit rigid and heavy, but is still less cumbersome than a suit of Full Chain Mail.
