Studded Leather

Almost identical in design to Leather Armor, Studded Leather Armor is made of the same boiled leather plates and connecting pieces. The only difference is the numerous tiny metal rivets built along the larger plates of the armor. Usually covering the chest, back, legs, shoulders, arm guards and shin guards of the armor, the metal studs provide a little bit of extra protection against weapons, sometimes deflecting the blows where normal leather would break or tear under the damage.
