Fire Hazard

Fire Hazards exist anywhere that a creature is exposed to a sizeable, uncontrolled fire, such as a forest fire, burning building, or the like. Creatures within close proximity to the fire are subject to damage from the extreme heat. There is also typically a significant amount of Smoke.

Within close proximity to a sizeable, uncontrolled fire, you are subject to the following effects.

  • Fires of significant size (i.e. large bonfire or large) emit an Aura that deals 5 Fire damage per round. The size of the Aura varies between 5ft (for a bonfire) and 20ft (for a forest fire). Additionally, prolonged exposure to a sizeable fire, even if not within the aura, could cause Heat Exposure.
  • If you come in contact with the Fire directly, you suffer damage based on the amount of your body in contact with the flames. This damage is suffered immediately and once per round for the duration of your contact with the fire. This damage is dealt in addition to the Fire's aura ability.
    • Brief Contact [5 Fire damage]: A brief exposure to direct flame, covering an area less than 10% of the body.
    • Minimal Exposure [10 Fire Damage]: Moving through an area of low flames or having a single limb exposed, where the flames cover 25% of the body or less.
    • Partially Engulfed [25 Fire damage]: When flames are approximately waist height or cover approximately 50% of the body.
    • Engulfed [50 Fire damage]: When flames cover most of the body, approximately 75% or more.
  • If the fire is very large in size (forest fire) or in an enclosed area (burning building), it produces Heavy Smoke. Otherwise, it produces Light Smoke.
