Description

This rod is made of a remarkably smooth lacquered dark wood, topped with a copper casing. Embedded in the copper is a semi-translucent red gem the size of a child's fist. The gem glows with a bright red light, outlining magical runes contained within when the rod is activated.

Lore

An Arcane Rod of Empowerment is a valuable tool to any practitioner of the Eldritch arts, and was in fact created by human wizards as a way to test the potential of an apprentice. While a fledgling wizard may not have an impressive array of spells at their disposal to use with the rod, it became a reliable measuring stick for judging their aptitude with basic magical implements.
