Description

Magical swords come in a variety of styles and levels of power. Their appearance is usually fashioned in the techniques of the land from which they came, or sometimes crafted with a visual theme such as beasts or religious symbology. While most high quality metals can be used in the construction of such weapons, gold and gemstones are almost always present in the makeup of a magical blade. Most magical swords radiate a faint light, varying in hue and appearance. Pale blues and shimmering whites seem to be most common.

Lore

There is a story behind almost every magical blade ever made, especially those with a name. Whether these stories are true must usually be validated in some form or another, but the one consistent history relating to magical swords is that they are highly prized among all warriors, giving an extra edge in combat as well as a certain level of prestige among their peers. Entire wars have been started and ended by the ownership of magical weaponry, often with the weapon changing hands to the worthy victor. This causes the legend of the blade to grow with yet another tale of slaughter, and some believe the spreading of such stories increases the actual power of the weapon.
