Description

This large, spherical shield appears to be made of magical brass and inlaid with golden sigils. The symbols will glow with burning energy when coming close to intense heat as the magic of the shield works at protecting its bearer. The symbols resemble a vortex of flame spiraling outward, possibly indicating the shield's primary purpose.

Lore

The Flame Shield is most likely heard of as just a normal shield in tales of heroism involving fire and large, lizard-like beasts. The truth is, however, that any challenger surviving such a confrontation only did so because they possessed a Flame Shield. Many individuals were elevated to unrealistic heights of heroism by wild tales of their deeds from witnesses who were not aware of the situation. As a result the Flame Shield has created a handful of reluctant Dragon Slayers over the centuries.
