Description

This long sword is magnificently crafted, yet bears no distinctive traits noticeable to a discerning eye. The hand guard, grip and pommel are plated with finely polished gold, the blade appearing to be an equally well polished steel that never dulls. It is otherwise devoid of ornamentation, and radiates a faint aura of Eldritch power until its true abilities are activated. The weapon changes in appearance and shape to suit the distaste and weaknesses of the creature that was selected, and radiates an overwhelming, menacing aura detectable by all, directed at the selected Foe. This aura is blindingly powerful to magical detection.

Lore

These blades actually appeared in different locations throughout the material plane at various stages of civilization from cultures that had previously had no contact with each other. Most races have natural enemies, so it is not surprising to most scholars that the secrets to these powerful weapons were unlocked rather quickly. Their abilities throughout history and location tend to vary widely, but it is generally accepted that to face an owner of a Foebane blade is to face certain demise.
