Lesser Ring of Regeneration
Description
Unlike most rings, this "jewelry" appears to be a simple band of hemp. Closer inspection and a monster lore check will allow one to notice that intertwined within the rope is a moving, living piece of enchanted troll skin. While its movement is barely perceptible at first, when a wearer is damaged the ring begins to writhe more emphatically as it imparts its magic upon its owner.
Lore
This ring was not created by traditional magical means. It was made by an inexperienced ranger, left for dead on the field of battle in his own grove. Having been accosted by a small gang of trolls, he managed to drive them off but nearly at the cost of his own life. In one last, desperate attempt to save himself he gathered up a small piece of troll skin and pressed it across his flesh. While the healing power was great, it also began to bind to him, threatening to overtake his body. As a solution, he took a much smaller piece of the flesh and embedded it into a section of rope from his pack, then tied it around his finger. The much smaller amount of troll skin healed him as well, far more slowly than it had done before, but without having enough strength to meld to into him.
