Lesser Ring of Spell Storing

Lesser Ring of Spell Storing
Magic Item [Very Rare]
Type: Jewelry (Ring)
Rank: 4 (Potency 40)
Properties

By casting an Eldritch Spell into the ring, the wearer may release it quickly at a later time. Storing a spell requires someone to Cast a spell they have Mastered or Memorized into the ring, spending any Component or Energy costs at the time of casting. The stored spell has an attack bonus, potency, and damage bonus equal to that of the caster and may include any augments the Caster has access to.

The Lesser Ring of Spell Storing can store any one Basic Eldritch Spell. A spell may be stored in this fashion indefinitely.

The effects of the stored spell may then be released at any time as a Standard Action [REC 3]. Once released, the ring's power is expended and a new spell must be cast into it.
Allocation: 1 Resolve
Aura: Moderate Evocation

This expensive looking Bauble contains a Ruby, Emerald and Diamond along the length of a platinum band. When the ring absorbs and release power, energy visibly cycles throughout the gems as the magic is dissipated.

Lore

The rings of spell storing are considered to be a natural conclusion to the results of magical study. Precious gems have long been known to conduct and hold magical energies far better than most materials, so it was only a matter of finding an equally valuable metal to help disperse the power of a stored or released spell safely. Over time, the arrangement of the gems relative to the refinement of the platinum ore were perfected, and now the items are a practical, valuable addition to any adventuring arsenal, provided one can afford it. Even a lesser ring of spell storing is worth a small fortune.
