Description

This rod is 1 Inch thick and about 1 Foot long, made of a pale blue silver metal of unknown origin. It is extremely light in weight and sounds hollow when tapped against a hard surface. A wielder attuned to magical arts can sense the item's magical nature when held, although this does not give them any insight into its abilities.

Lore

The Static Rod was designed to utilize the natural properties of a rare metal in conjunction with lightning based magic, amplifying their power. Once it was created, however, the artificer found that he could even channel his own energy into the rod to issue forth powerful blasts of lightning. Needless to say, this accidental development made the item much more dangerous, and therefore more desirable than was originally intended.
