Sword of Divine Lightning
Description
This regal looking weapon functions as a rapier, despite having a somewhat longer and slightly thicker blade than most swords of that type. It features a golden, circular cross guard with etchings of runes associated with a divine being of air, usually a god. The handle is wrapped tightly in a light blue silk, and is pierced with three golden rings at the bottom that pulsate with currents of energy. The blade itself is long shaft of flat, sharpened metal with a slight blue hue.
Lore
The legend of this sword originates from the far east. A formerly great commander had led his troops into a trap that cost him all but 10 of his men. Surrounded by the enemy army, his soldiers formed in a circle around him, the commander prayed for a way to save his remaining soldiers, and pledged his life in service to any deity who would grant him his request. Much to his surprise, his call was answered in the form of the Sword of Divine Lightning, shooting down to earth like a comet. The commander took up the sword and unleashed devastating blows of magical, diving power on to his opponents, and with the help of his reinvigorated soldiers drove off the enemy forces.
