Extract Magic Essence

Effect: At the start of the ritual, you draw forth blood, ichor, or other vital fluid from the magical creature. Over the next few minutes you cleanse the blood over a small fire and mix it with the White Alchemy Solution. You then focus your energies with a repeated mantra and draw forth magical essence from the solution. The essence is condensed down to a single drop and stored within the vial. This process is delicate and difficult to perform and you must succeed an Alchemy Check [DC 30, or DC 20 if on Alchemist's Ground] or the ritual fails and all components are wasted. Succeeding the check results in the creation of a single drop of Magic Essence. Whether or not the check succeeds, the focus creature permanently loses 2 Resolve.

Extracting Magical Essence is fatiguing and traumatic to the donating creature, and most never give it willingly except in the most extreme circumstances. They often describe the process as 'Giving up a part of themselves'.
