Reverse Scrying

Effect: When you have been made aware that a Scry attempt has been made upon you, usually through use of a Detect Scrying or Scry Ward ritual, you gaze upon the mirror and chant. Make a Ritual Casting check [DC 30] to determine whether the reverse scrying succeeds.

• If you are familiar with the target, gain bonuses to your check according to the the chart below.
• If you succeed the check, you are able to see and hear the target that recently attempted to Scry upon you and its immediate surroundings (approximately 25 ft diameter area) within the mirror's surface.
• You may optionally zoom in on the image to inspect objects as small as 2 square feet.
• You are able to perceive the target as you could with your normal senses (i.e. if you have Darkvision, you can see as such through the scry). While you can see the target, you cannot affect it in any other way through the scrying effect.
• The target is unaware that they are being scryed upon, unless under the influence of a Detect Scrying Ritual or similar ability.
• The magical effect of the Scry is innately masked, but may be detected with an ability that can detect masked auras (such as the Reveal Magic ritual).
• You will continue to receive images of the target for the duration of the ritual, provided the ritual is not dispelled or disrupted.

If you fail the check, the ritual fails and you cannot attempt it again on the same target until the next Dawn or Dusk. If the target is on another plane, you suffer a -10 penalty to your check.
