Duration: Until dismissed, dispelled, disrupted, or the target is released.
Target: One Familiar
Effect: You place a target within the cage (either physically or through magical means) and then you utter an incantation activating the binding runes engraved upon the cage. Once you complete the incantation, the area within the cage itself becomes Anchored and Line of Effect becomes blocked.
While trapped, a Familiar is prevented from returning to its master and the empathic bond between them is blocked. The familiar can be physically released at any time if the cage is opened, though the simple latch cannot be affected from within the cage (no matter how the familiar may try). If the cage is opened, this ritual immediately ends.
Since the Familiar's life force is still tied to its master, it does not need to eat or drink and cannot die while trapped (unless its master dies).
