Giant Spider, Medium

Giant Spider, Medium
Level 3 (+2)
"Ok. Don’t. Move. They can’t see us if we…wait…I think it just looked at you."
——Inexperienced Adventuring Party.
Giant Spiders appear as much larger versions of their smaller descendants. They have eight hairy legs that end in small serrated points that aid them in climbing walls and ceilings. While ordinary spider venom is not normally enough to harm an average sized humanoid, a giant spider, being roughly the size of a human itself, is easily capable of piercing the skin with its jagged mandibles. It can inject a large dose of poison that attacks the body, ravaging it from the inside with toxic fluids. Its favorite tactic, however, is to either capture prey in a trap of webbing, or simply cover it in a spray of web fluid, holding it in place so the spider can feed right away. These large arachnids are typically 4-5 feet in length, their legs measuring about 6 feet each, and weigh anywhere from 150 to 200 lbs., depending on the type of spider.
