Bleed Damage
Bleed damage occurs when a creature loses critical body fluids (usually blood) that sustain its life functions. Ordinary bleed damage appears as the bodily fluid leaking from an open wound, whereas magical bleeding effects can cause blood to leak from a target's pores, potentially bursting forward if the power is severe enough.
Bleed damage functions slightly differently than other damage types. For one, most magical healing automatically removes any Ongoing Bleed effects (whereas ongoing damage of other types are not ended by healing). Additionally, if a creature is Disabled (i.e. reduced to 0 hitpoints) by Bleed Damage, it must succeed a Resilience check [DC 20] or suffer from Blood Loss(1). If the creature takes additional Bleed Damage while Disabled, it must repeat this check.
Special Rules:
- Bleed Effects are removed by most magical healing.
- When a creature is Disabled (i.e. reduced to 0 hitpoints) by Bleed damage, or suffers Bleed damage while Disabled, it must make a Resilience check [DC 20] or suffer from Blood Loss(1)
