Boots of Convenient Passage
Hey! Come back here with me chickens! Oh, not me chickens! That's the third time this month! -Local farmer reacting to an unusual case of magical item abuse
Description
Boots of Convenient Passage seem to be made of articulately sewn, gold embroidered feathers. They are so well sewn, in fact, that at a glance they appear to be solid white with ornamental trimmings. However, when this footwear's flying power is activated the feathers begin to glow with a soft golden hue as the user is lifted from the ground, betraying their magical nature.
Lore
Some claim the boots are made of angel wings. Others maintain a more mundane origin, suggesting mortal enchanted goose down. In any case, over time these boots have been replicated enough that any knowledgeable merchant of fine magical wares understands the ornamentation is purely for show. While the boots themselves do not have a tale of their own, they are often found being used by heroes in tales spun by local bards and musicians.
