Description

This ring is made of silver, constantly ensorceled with a pulsing, vibrant white energy. A wearer of the ring can feel the repellent nature of the ring immediately upon putting it on, the magical aura constantly seeking to reverse the course of magical energies directed towards its master. Fortunately, the ring does not function unless its owner wills it.

Lore

There was a time in history where Sorcery held a stifling grasp on the development of the mortal races. Wars, marriages, alliances, commerce, everything was decided based on the aptitude for magic of all parties involved, and it seemed this power would shape the world for centuries to come. That is, until a rogue of exceptional guile and skill discovered how to turn magic back on his enemies. Through years of trial and error experimenting with magical devices, she found that the act of casting Spell Turning could be captured with a magical knife in the back at precisely the right interval, the act imprinted on the blade. From there, it was simply a matter of finding another caster willing to channel the imprint on the weapon into a more permanent item capable of cycling the counter-spelling power repeatedly. With a few threats, bribes and more than a few slit throats, a willing participant was found, and the ring was crafted.
