"Heal me! HEAL ME! Lousy cleric, how hard is it to aim a ...oh no, don't you start blaming this on my new mace again! Your jealousy is SO transparent!"
——Snake Deathstalker, Ill-Fated Rogue

Description

This powerful item is fashioned from a strange green metal with a dark sheen. It is about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 foot long, along the shaft are black metal engravings set deeply on it's length. At one end of the rod is a clear white crystal, perfectly carved and set within the rod. When a spell is absorbed, the crystal temporarily grows dark as it consumes the energy.

Lore

The Rod of Absorption is a highly sought after item by many adventurers who operate in magically active regions. Originally, it was designed by practitioners of the wizardly arts for training pupils with little self control, and the secrets of it's creation were kept under lock and key for quite some time until one such item was stolen by an unwitting thief of unknown origins.
