Description

The Rod of Negation appears to be made of a wood as black as magical darkness. Any light shown upon it is not reflected. At the top of the rod is an opaque white gemstone cut at flat, even angles.

Lore

The Rod of Negation is a holy relic left behind by a Void Wizard from another dimension. He accidentally lost his grip on it when he activated the rod, defending against a spell from a mage from the material plane as he was trying to escape through a magical gate. The magic conflicted with the energies of the portal and the gate was suddenly closed with the rod, and his hand, left on the other side. The mage took the strange rod and mastered its secrets, duplicating it several times over and selling it to high-bidding adventurers.
