Staff of Bells
Description
A staff made of iron etched with simple carvings, the Staff of Bells features several tiny ornamental bells hanging from a series of rings running through the tip of the weapon. Strangely enough, the bells do not emit any noise on their own. When the staff is prompted to bring forth its powers, a loud ring issues forth from them. This ring is so loud, in fact, that the noise can startle and shock those struck by the staff.
Lore
This weapon was first carried by a solitary monk who lived at the peak of a great mountain in the east. It was said that his humble home was devoid of ornamentation, save the myriad of wind chimes and bells strung up around his small domain. Some believed it was to warn him of intrusions, others said he simply enjoyed the harmony. In any case, only one man ever attempted to scale the mountain and disturb his peace. He returned empty handed and with a perpetual ringing in his ear that eventually drove him mad. Once this story spread, the surrounding populace decided it was simply best to leave the monk alone.
