Advanced Grapple

Advanced Grapple
Basic Physical Maneuver [Grapple]
Prerequisites: Physical Rank 3
Standard Action [REC 6]
Cost: 1 Stamina
Range: Touch
Target: One creature within Reach that is no more than one size category larger than you (Unless using Break Pin, which can be used against a creature of any size).
Effect: You have trained extensively in the martial art of wrestling. Choose one of the following advanced abilities involved in Grappling with an opponent. Each requires an Opposed Grapple Check to determine success or failure.
  • Improved Grab [Lunge, Charge, Opportunity]: Make a Melee vs Touch attack against the target. If you succeed, make a Grapple check to attempt to grab the target. If you succeed the Grapple check, the target is Grabbed. If you charged as part of this action and succeeded the grapple check, you may optionally knock you and the target prone.
  • Pin: Make a grapple check against a target that you have grabbed. If you succeed, you Pin the target.
  • Break Pin [Pin]: Make a Grapple check against an opponent who has Grabbed or Pinned you. If you succeed, you are no longer Grabbed or Pinned by the target. Additionally, you may Shift 10ft away from the target as part of this action. If you were grabbing the target and you choose to shift, the target is immediately released from the Grab. Unlike with the standard Grapple power, you do not suffer a penalty to the grapple check when breaking a pin.
  • Throw: Make a Grapple check against a target whom you have Grabbed. If you succeed the check, deal Unarmed damage to your opponent, and the target is drawn into your space and then Pushed [1d10 + 10]ft away from you (in a direction of your choice) and knocked Prone. If the target was Grappling with you, you break the Grab.
  • Choke: Make a grapple check against a target that you have Pinned. If you succeed the check, deal Unarmed damage to the target, and the target is Dazed for 1d4 segments and cannot breath until it breaks the pin.
  • Crush: Make a grapple check against a target that you have grabbed. If you succeed the check, deal Unarmed damage to the target plus an additional 2 WD.
