Spell Theft
Magic Resistance: Special
Ultimate Eldritch Spell [Magical, Perceptive]
Prerequisites: Eldritch Rank 8
Disciplines: Necromancy
Potency: [2d8 + Eldritch Rank]
Cast Action [CT 5, REC 10]
Components: V, S
Cost: 1 Karma, 6 Resolve and 4 Resolve Burn
Range: 50 ft
Target: One ongoing magical effect on a creature.
Effect: Yanking at the tethers that bind magic to reality, you remove the targeted effect from the creature and transfer it to another creature within range.
- This can allow you to strip a beneficial power effect from an opponent and transfer it to yourself or an ally.
- Alternatively, you can transfer a detrimental power effect from yourself or an ally and transfer it to an opponent.
- This spell can only affect temporary abilities and does not remove innate supernatural defenses and abilities or the effects of Rituals.
- The duration of the transferred effect is not affected by this spell (though ongoing effects with a count-down, such as Marked for Death, reset when transferred to the new creature).
- Any abilities or conditions that cause the magical power's effect to end will function as normal for the new target. If the transferred effect can be ended with a Saving Throw, the new target gains an initial save against the effect as normal (provided the original power does not prohibit an initial saving throw).
Special: If the creature receiving the transferred effect has Magic Resistance, they may attempt to negate the transferred effect (using the potency of this spell). If they succeed to negate the transferred effect, the effect ends.
