Flash Flood
During a Flash Flood, water moves quickly and forcefully through an area. Mild Flash Floods can sweep people off their feet, carry off unattended gear and items, and Drown helpless victims. A Severe Flash Flood can submerge people and objects in an area.
- Mild Flash Flood: During a Mild Flash Flood, creatures must succeed a Balance check [DC 10] or be knocked off their feet (creatures of large size or larger may be immune, GMs discretion). Unattended objects are swept away at a rate of 10ft per segment. Helpless creatures that are submerged in the flood waters begin Drowning. If the Mild Flash Flood occurs in an area of already flowing water (such as a river), it instead increases the DC of any Swim check by 5.
- Severe Flash Flood: During a Severe Flash Flood, creatures must succeed at a Swim check [DC 15] in order to not be swept up by the current. Creatures who fail the check are swept away at a rate of 20ft per segment. Creatures who critically fail the check (by 6 or more), are pulled underwater and begin Drowning. If the Severe Flash Flood occurs in an area of already flowing water (such as a river), it instead increases the DC or any Swim check by 10.
