Vitality

Your character's Vitality is composed of two aspects: Energy and Health. Energy is further broken up in to Stamina (physical energy) and Resolve (mental energy). Together, Energy and Health (represented by Hitpoints) comprise your character's staying power, his ability to avoid exhaustion, and his ability to withstand physical and mental damage.

Stamina & Resolve

Stamina and Resolve, collectively referred to as Energy, are used to fuel a character's powers and abilities. Stamina and Resolve totals consist of points granted by Race, Class, Attribute Scores, Physical & Mental Ranks, Level, and miscellaneous bonuses. Utilizing Stamina and Resolve will be discussed in more detail in the How to Play section.

Stamina points granted by Race and Class can be found in the Racial Characteristics and Class Traits boxes respectfully. To determine the points granted by Attributes, look up your character's Strength, Constitution, and Dexterity scores on the table below. Your character's Stamina Total can then be calculated with the following equation. Record your final Stamina Total in the Stamina section of the character sheet.

Resolve points granted by Race and Class are also found in the Racial Characteristics and Class Traits sections. To determine the points granted by your Attributes, look up your character's Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores on the table below. The Resolve Total can then be determined with the following equation and recorded in the Resolve section of the character sheet.

Hitpoints

Hitpoints are a representation of your character's health and determine the damage a character can take. Your character's Race and Class will grant a base amount of Hitpoints plus additional Hitpoints on a per level basis. Your base Hitpoints are dependent on ⅓ of two attribute (Att) scores from your race and ⅓ of one or two attribute scores from your class. You should add all of your scores together before dividing by 3. Miscellaneous bonuses can add to this value. Calculate your Base Hitpoints using the following equation:

Base Hitpoints = [(Att 1 + Att 2) from Race + (Att 3 + Att 4*) from Class] ÷ 3 + Miscellaneous Bonuses
*Note that Att 4 is only present in a subset of Classes. Many classes will only contribute one attribute score towards hitpoints.

Your race and class will each also grant you a number of hitpoints per level. Miscellaneous bonuses can add to this value. Calculate your Per Level Hitpoints using the following equation:

Per Level Hitpoints = Racial per Level Hitpoints + Class per Level Hitpoints + Miscellaneous Bonuses

The sum of the Base Hitpoints and Per Level Hitpoints will determine the Total Hitpoints (or "Maximum Hitpoints") for your first level character.

Total Hitpoints at First Level = Base Hitpoints + Per Level Hitpoints

The Healing Value is a percentage of a character's health that can be healed through the use of certain powers and effects. Your character's Healing Value is equal to 20% or one-fifth of your character's total Hitpoints.

Healing Value = Total Maximum Hitpoints ÷ 5 (round down)

Your character's Total Hitpoints and Healing Value are recorded in the Hitpoints section of the character sheet.

Resilience

Resilience represents a character's strength of body and his ability to avoid injuries. Resilience is based on your character's Constitution score, and is determined via the table below. Miscellaneous bonuses can add to this score.
