Rain Hazard

Rain, usually water but potentially other liquids, can pose significant challenges to adventurers. It obscures vision and tends to muffle sound and scent. Rainfall may cause other hazards, like flooding and creating Slippery Terrain on many surfaces.

Light Rain

Light rain, which tends to be just a bit more than a drizzle, is characterized by small, light droplets that fall gently. It is a minor obstruction to vision and other senses. Areas of Light Rain have the following effects:

Heavy Rain

Heavy rain is marked by large, heavy droplets that fall rapidly and with force. It can significantly impact activities, limiting visibility, causing water to pool on surfaces, and increasing the risk of flash floods. The downpour can be quite loud and visibility can be significantly reduced, which makes many outdoor activities challenging or even dangerous. Areas of Heavy Rain have the following effects:

Torrential Rain

Torrential rain is an extreme form of heavy rain, characterized by an incredibly dense, rapid downpour of water. This type of rain falls so thickly and quickly that visibility can be severely restricted, almost to the point of blindness. The overwhelming amount of water can quickly flood streets, overwhelm drainage systems, and cause serious flash flooding. The intense noise of the falling rain can also make communication difficult, further enhancing the disorienting and hazardous conditions. Areas of Torrential Rain have the following effects:

Toxic Rain

Toxic Rain is Rain that includes poisons, acids, or similar dangerous liquids. It functions as above, but also creates terrain with Damaging and similar effects, such as Toxin exposure.
