"Darkness is all around you, you need only look inside yourself and recognize the horrors within your own mind. When you come to understand the black void at the core of all thought, you may also realize that all mortals share this corruption."
——Hanmodias, The Red Devil

Description

This dagger's blade is thin and wide with an unusual half circle tip. The grip and hand guard are one solid piece, made of finely polished obsidian. The pommel of the dagger is decorated with an elongated humanoid face that appears to be in pain. The blade is dull, yet somehow cuts just as deeply as any other. From the handle, radiating upward around the blade is a dark, necrotic flame that drains the life from those who touch it as well as sucks the light out of every space it occupies.

Lore

It is said that this foul weapon takes a toll on its owner if used for long enough, although according to history none have actually owned it long enough to substantiate such a theory. While the wielder of such a weapon gains great power from the fiends of darkness, tragedy seems to follow the owner like a plague. Whether this is the fault of the weapon or the owner is unknown, although its current record of deceased masters would suggest the former to be true. Forged in impenetrable blackness on the plain of shadow, infused with the essences of 999 forlorn spirits, many scholars wonder what horrible motives were in mind when such a terrible masterpiece was crafted.
