Effect: You depress one side of the cube to create a 10ft by 10ft by 10ft cube of power surrounding you. Once created, the cube moves with you. The cube has the following effect depending on which side is depressed.
  • Breathless Cube: Air tight and not subject to gas effects.
  • Lifeless Cube: Non-living creatures and objects are prevented from entering the cube.
  • Living Cube: Living creatures are prevented from entering the cube.
  • Antimagic Cube: The interior of the cube is an area of Antimagic, preventing magic from existing within or passing through the cube.
  • Force Cube: The walls of the cube create an invisible solid force between you and the outside world. The cube is immune to damage, though may be dispelled with the Disintegrate Spell. The walls of the cube entirely block Line of Effect.
  • Depressing the sixth side deactivates the cube.

Description

The Cube of Force looks like a die of six faces that fits into the palm of a medium sized person. This cube is not actually made of any mundane material, but is instead constructed of thin layers of magical force and is thus indestructible by mundane means.

Lore

It is speculated that beings outside of the material plane came up with the design for this magical cube, primarily because no magical craftsmen have been found yet who can reproduce it. Attempts at doing so often finish with disastrous results, ending in a blast of force so devastating that the creator is destroyed in their attempt. For this reason most mortals stay away from trying to mimic its development, and leave the experimentation to others more suitable.
