Sandstorm
Sandstorms are the result of Windstorms in an environment where there is particularly loose sediment (such as a sandy desert). Sandstorms block visibility and, when severe, can deal damage and cause Suffocation.
- Mild Sandstorm: Mild Sandstorms provide Partial Concealment to creatures more than 30ft away and imposes a -4 penalty to Spot targets more than 30ft away. It also imposes a -2 penalty to Listen checks. Mild Sandstorms will leave 1d4 inches of sand.
- Severe Sandstorm: Severe Sandstorms provide Partial Concealment to creatures within 30ft, and Superior Concealment to creatures beyond 30ft. Spot checks suffer a -4 penalty within 30ft (and automatically fail beyond 30ft) and Listen checks suffer a -4 penalty. Additionally, there is a 25% chance the storm is strong enough to deal 1d6 Bludgeoning Damage per round and cause Suffocation [SE, ST 2d10 vs CON]. Creatures can avoid suffocation by placing a scarf or similar protection over the nose and mouth. Severe Sandstorms will leave 1d4 feet of sand.
