Thunder Warrior

The Thunder Warrior usually comes from a background of tribesman. These cultures produce fierce warriors that also have a healthy respect for the forces of nature. The Thunder Warrior learns to tie their destructive capabilities to the mysteries of the sky beyond, becoming an avatar of elemental warfare. This type of combatant is extremely dangerous, but fortunately for most, also very rare. An army of Thunder Warriors could potentially devastate entire cultures, leaving nothing but blasted ruin in their wake.

The Thunder Warrior is a three stage talent.

Thunder Warrior I

The Thunder Warrior is infused with the strength of the storm, imbuing his attacks with the ability to strike as either thunder or lightning. Furthermore, a blast of cacophonous energy can be called forth with a mighty impact, ripping through any unfortunate enough to be standing nearby and knocking them from their feet.

Prerequisites

  • Martial Rank 5 or Physical Rank 5
  • Ritual Casting Rank 5
  • Creation of a Thunder Spark Amulet, bound to and worn by the Thunder Warrior.
  • Cost: 3 Destiny Points

Features

♦ Thunder Weapon
When you wield a weapon, you may convert any damage dealt to your choice of Lightning or Sonic damage.
♦ Thunder Critical
When you Critical Strike an opponent, your attack gains the following effect, based on the type of damage dealt.
  • Lightning Damage: The target is Stunned for 1d6 segments.
  • Sonic Damage: The target is Deafened for 10 segments.
♦ Sonic Boom
You gain the Sonic Boom ability.

Thunder Warrior Class Feature [Sonic]
Prerequisites: Thunder Warrior I
Standard Action [REC 6]
Cost: 2 Stamina
Effect: You strike your weapon on the ground, causing a burst of sonic. Make an attack:
Range: 5ft
Target: All creatures within range.
Melee Attack: Melee vs. Fortitude
Hit: 5d6 + StrP Sonic damage and the target is knocked Prone.
Miss: Half Damage.
Augment, Greater Sonic Boom
[Martial or Physical Rank 6, Stacking]
Stacking [Rank 6, 7, 8, etc]: This augment may be applied multiple times and is limited by your Martial or Physical Rank.
Effect: Increase the damage 1d6.
Master Augment, Distant Boom
[Thunder Warrior II, Stacking]
Stacking [Thunder Warrior II & III]: This augment may be applied twice and is limited by your tier in the Thunder Warrior talent.
Cost: 1 Stamina
Effect: Increase the range by 5ft.

Thunder Warrior II

As the embodiment of thunder and lightning, the connection to the primal powers grows, and attacks are now enhanced with intensified lightning and thunder. The Thunder Warrior can even channel the energies from within, and release them as devastating lightning bolts through their weapons.

When you convert damage dealt by a weapon you wield to Lightning or Sonic damage, increase the damage dealt by 1 WD.

You gain the Lightning Javelin ability.

Prerequisites: Thunder Warrior II
Standard Action [REC 7]
Cost: 4 Stamina
Effect: Gathering electricity within your weapon, you release a bolt of deadly lightning. Make an attack:
Range: 500ft
Target: One creature within range.
Ranged Attack: Ranged vs. Reflex
Hit: 12d6 + DexP Lightning damage.
Augment, Greater Lightning Javelin
[Martial or Physical Rank 7, Stacking]
Stacking [Rank 7, 8, 9, etc]: This augment may be applied multiple times and is limited by your Martial or Physical Rank.
Effect: Increase the damage 2d6.
Master Augment, Chaining Lightning

Cost: 1 Stamina
Effect: You may now target one additional creature.

Thunder Warrior III

The Thunder Warrior can now barely contain their power, bristling with crackling energy, their ties to the elements visible for all to see unless consciously contained. An Aura of crackling energy now surrounds them. It is this same energy that allows them to turn inward and focus to strike suddenly as the lightning itself, briefly becoming a sentient lightning bolt. Lastly, they can now channel the roiling storm within, and release a blast of destructive sound, damaging and blasting away their enemies.

Features

♦ Aura of Lightning
You gain an Aura (10ft) that deal Lightning damage equal to [2 x Martial or Physical Rank]. You may choose to activate or dismiss this aura as a Free Action.
♦ Ride the Lightning
You gain the Ride the Lightning ability.

Thunder Warrior Class Feature [Sonic]
Prerequisites: Thunder Warrior III
Free Action
Cost: 3 Resolve
Trigger: You take an action to move, using one of your Movement Modes.
Effect: You turn into a being of pure lightning, moving near instantaneously from your original location to your ending point. While in this state, you may move through other creature's spaces, dealing [2 x Martial or Physical Rank] Lightning damage to each creature whose location you move through. This movement does not grant an Opportunity to creatures who Threaten you.
Special: If you currently have your Aura of Lightning activated, it is suppressed during this movement.
♦ Shock Wave
You gain the Shock Wave ability.

Cost: 2 Stamina and 1 Stamina Burn
Effect: You send a wave of sonic energy towards you opponents. Make an attack:
Area: 30ft Cone
Target: All creatures in area.
Melee Attack: Melee vs. Fortitude
Hit: 7d6 + StrP Sonic damage and the target is Pushed [1d6 x 5]ft.
Miss: Half Damage.
