Raising the Dead
In QoD, death is not necessarily a permanent condition, as multiple abilities allow a creature to be brought back to life after a short (or long) period of time. The method and exact effects of Raising a Dead Creature vary based on the particular ability used to raise them (for examples see Revive, Raise Dead, and Resurrection). These particular abilities also specify how much of the body must be intact, the length of time for which the body may have been dead, and whether or not the process requires any permanent Energy Loss on the part of the deceased.
If the deceased creature has a soul or spirit, it must be free and available in order for to be brought back from the dead. Therefore, a Trap the Soul or similar ability can prevent this process. Creatures that have died from old age may be restored temporarily, but they will die again within 2d6 days (unless there age is somehow also reduced).
What each creature remembers from the time spend dead is different and up to the GM's discretion. Some can't remember anything, while others may remember being in some sort of afterlife or place of rest.
