Characteristics
These creatures are nasty and mean spirited, but too weak to be threatening to most other devils, and therefore concentrate mostly on staying alive, inflicting pain when they get a chance. When on the mortal plane, they usually look for easy targets to torment: Halfling children, the elderly, pets, inanimate objects. They are also extremely stupid.
History
These miserable demons don't have much of a history, because no one in the lower planes has bothered to record it, and Dretchs are not literate. They have been used in many demon armies as fodder much in the same way Kobolds are treated by other mortal species, and it is unlikely this treatment will change any time soon.
Culture
Dretches tend to band together, not from a sense of community, but more for a desperate need for survival. If they have a culture, it could only be seen as one of self-loathing, hatred, and ignorance.
